After intestinal trouble for a week, Reggie called it a day. He was born on February 14, 1995 and passed away in my arms today, December 28, 2012, at 4:37PM. Reggie had an amazing, kind soul. I can't even begin to express how substantive a loss he will be. A more thorough obituary will follow when I am capable.
This is the worst day ever.

ReplyDeleteI totally understand and can relate to your sadness and loss. In the past year my two 18 year old cat friends whom I had since they kittens passed away. I miss them and all they meant to me. Very sorry for your loss. Regards.

I'm VERY sorry to hear that. 17 years is simply amazing. Even though it only makes the loss that much worse.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all for the good words. I know it's part of the package we accept when we get pets: we will likely outlive them. Even so, losing a companion of such longevity has been a challenge.

ReplyDeleteHe lived as long as our last cat. It's not a bad age but gives you much longer to be part of each others life so the sorrow is longer lasting.
